SUPERINTENDENT / PROJECT MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIP

  

Perry Building Contractors is looking for Commercial Construction Superintendent / Project Management Intern.

Job Summary

The Construction Superintendent / Project Management Intern will work closely with Senior Team Members to assist in overseeing all project construction activities and supervise all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, while administering proper construction safety practices with all on-site activities. 


Construction Superintendent / Project Management Intern Job Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains project administration in a proper and timely manner.
  2. Assists with managing subcontractors by locating, evaluating, and selecting.
  3. Coordinates subcontractors and craftsmen according to priorities and plans.
  4. Implements project schedule and monitors attendance of crews.
  5. Assists in scheduling and monitoring various third-party vendors.
  6. Assists with the procurement of required materials and equipment.
  7. Assists in securing necessary state and local permits.
  8. Prevents potential fines and work interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, applicable codes.
  9. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following guidelines, quality standards, and procedures.
  10. Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews.
  11. Meets construction budget and finance goals by monitoring project expenditures.
  12. Thoroughly understands, executes and maintains blueprints and construction documents.
  13. Reports on progress to Project Manager and Project Owners.
  14. Assist with the investigation and resolution of conflicts, as may be encountered, to ensure that the project proceeds in a favorable and appropriate direction.

Construction Superintendent / Project Management Intern Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Ability to read construction blueprints and project elevation drawings.
  2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  3. Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  4. Strong attention to detail
  5. Exceptional problem-solving abilities
  6. Time management skills
  7. Basic computer skills (Microsoft: Outlook, Word, Excel, Project)
  8. High school diploma; Working on Construction Management Degree or equivalent.
  9. A valid driver’s license from the state of residence is required.
  10. Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred)
